My dear future grandchildren, I met your grandfather on a hot sultry day in India in 2004. It was love at first sight. He pursued me, I relented. We got married; it was but the honourable thing to do since he had OMG! Held my hands! Occasionally we held hands real tight and that is how your parents were born.

Some people might tell you otherwise. They will tell you  about how on a sultry day in 2004, 4 Danish men came to Bombay for their internships. That we knew a person in common, and since I am an angel like that, I helped them find an apartment. Of the four, one looked hot, one was an intrepid traveller with stories to tell, one was uncategorizable and one looked like an innocent choir boy.

The choir boy was funny, he made everyone laugh. He thought I was too bossy and was indifferent towards me.  We went out for beers in a group though. Once in a crowded bar, your grandfather said, ‘June I can see your boobs’. That was our first intimate encounter. It happened because, I was wearing clothes that youth makes you wear and had a wardrobe malfunction of sorts.  (But please do not believe this part of the story, I, your honourable grandmother was born with pixelated lady parts.)

Few months later we went out for drinks with a few others. Your grandfather and I ended up doing what extremely platonic friends do after too many drinks. It soon became our favorite hobby. Thus began our contribution to global warming with constant flying across continents to see each other.

He is still the funniest person I know, also the kindest and most  annoyingly righteous person. We still enjoy our shared hobby.

Moral of the story my munchkins is – Go out for drinks with funny men who look like choir boys, you may find love. You may even get 80% engaged.

This is one of my favorite picture of us. It’s from the time we went to Paris and your grandfather mistook a souvenir shop for the Louvre Museum.

This is too cute! Leaving a story about how you were able to Start Love to your future grandkids! It’s cute…but not something I would do until I get proposed to. But I think even having a diary to leave behind would be encouraging even to your children or grandchildren in the future. They can read about how you found love, even at times in your life when it didn’t seem possible!
